I have had several requests about info on the axes I use. I am going to try to go over what I consider a good bush axe.

To start with a good sheath is very important. I like both of these a lot. The pouch sheath covers the whole axe and gives good protection. The edge only mask lets you use the back of the axe for hammering.
I prefer an axe that is 24"-26" and a total weight of 2 1/2 - 3 lbs.
Try to keep you axes clean and polished. They will chop more efficiently and stick less.
I recently put a 1", 12", and 2' mark if I want to measure anything in the woods.
