Hello every one!
I want to show you guys a project that am working on with a knife that i got from a friend, its 5160, forged with a large hollow ground blade,
its a knife that that am working on for myself.. got it from a friend but did not like the handle shape because it had a finger guard, so ground it off and am planning to reshape the tang, Put my orange home made "micarta" on it and put a nice patina on it with mustard..... last night i convexed the bevels and cleaned it up a bit.....
here is the orange "micarta" that am going to be using for my new handles, i had to regrind the handle to the shape i wanted and then slowly filed and sanded it down to the point where i was happy with the shape...
here is how it came out:
now i need to sand down the "micarta" until smooth and at the shape i want. last step will be to put a nice patina on my blade.
