Got them in late this evening....wahoo!!!

Well...check 'em out:
(plus a few others in there.....   )

Paul Bos went ahead and heat-treated all 147 blades (I actually sent them in 2 batches)...what a great guy, eh?
And right on schedule.

Close-up on the bushcraft:

(more true to color)

The "as-heat-treated" finish on these turned out better than expected...I was worried they'd end up "straw" colored like the S30V blades above...these are more of a slate grey with blue/purple tint to it. A perfect compliment to the micarta.

Here's what you see in the first pic:
(from left to right)

Nessmuk in S30V (order)
2 S30V K-TUSKs with 4" long blades
bushcraft in S30V (experiment - for me only!)

(6) Pikal paring knives...more on this later.

4 K-TUSKs in S30V, 3" blade
2 K5 Kardas - S30V
K6 Karda - S30V

3 Santokus in S30V
2 Maters in S30V (passaround knives! )

7 Nessmuks in 1/4" CPM3V...yes, I'm stoked.

1 very nice, very light Monster Nessmuk in 1/4" CPM3V

(3) K5 Kardas in 1/4" CPM 3V

Including the bushcraft blades.....180 blades!

Even if it only take 2 hrs per knife to finish these up...that's 2-2.5 months worth of work!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have 2.5 months....:(

Y'all want your stuff yesterday!... I know...I know...:D  :p

I am going to be a busy guy next week!!!!

I hope to get the first 20 knocked out in time for Christmas shipping.

My eye went right to those "Pikal paring knives" ... very sleek, nice design.

OK, on the 2-2.5 months, no worries, Dan.
I'm only twitching for knife #7 !!

(( I sent the balance of what I owed you tonight. :D ))

Ooohhh... those are soo freakin' cool looking. How exciting!!!! I'm really stoked, despite my location on the list.

That is such a great design.

that pic is like my Christmas wish in technicolor...

I was wondering how the blade flats are gonna be finished. I thought you had mentioned leaving them dark as they are out of HT, but some look to still have markings/writings on them (what the heck kinda crayon handles those temps :D) Are you gonna make them all the same finish, or just brush the ones with the marks?

WOW! Thanks for the update Dan, your going to be one busy man this winter break. :D

Dan, I've got to say - You are one hard working son-of-a-gun! Keep up the great work that you're doing. Fantastic knives. Great marketing. Thanks for keeping us posted :thumbup::thumbup:

Slowly but surely we are teaching Dan some work ethics....

RIGHT Dan???:D

Tom

Yes, master...you have taught me well....

:D :D :p

did you miss my post, or was it a silly question?

was that a silly question?

how about that one?

ok, I'll stop being silly.

am I being silly?

was that a silly question?

I'll rinse the blades with acetone - if it doesn't come off, I'll sandblast it off.

But basically...I need to leave them as-is as much as possible....gotta keep cost/time down. hence the reason for the "as-forged" finish.
