I ordered stainless steel hardware but I noticed that the pins are dark gray like the aluminum ones in the pic in the bushcraft thread. Does the stainless come out the same color after blasting or did I accidentilly get aluminum?

The stainless pins look almost exactly like the aluminum pins once they are bead-blasted.

If you have them side by side, the SS pins are slightly darker than the aluminum ones.

And since the stainless pins I use have no carbon, you can't do a magnet test either.

I am not beyond mistakes, but I have a great system for keeping track of the knife and it's details from start to finish...and I have not switched any pins.

But, yes, if you're wondering....it was a huge pain-in-the-rear...and I won't be offering stainless pins after this run. So, you guys that got SS will be the only ones. ;)

they are a pain in the rear to work (require more care since they are significantly harder than the handle material), more expensive and overkill actually. The aluminum pins do great. I have had zero failures (knock on wood) with aluminum pins...and have made hundreds of knives with them.
