Hey guys,

I'm normally a BRKT and Fallkniven man, but I stumbled upon these knives and really like the looks of 'em. Had a couple ?s:

1) Dan, is there still room in the bushcraft signup for one more? Maybe others would like to know how many slots are still availible too?

2) They look to be scandi ground, however your website has a whole section on the virtues of convex ground blades, which are these? Or are they the 'convex-scandi' like the BRKT nebula?

3) Sheaths: what is the cost of a kydex or a leather (JRE) ordered w/ the knife (didn't see it when I read through the signup but may have missed it). Also, to anyone who might know: would the bushcraft fit into the BRKT SharpShooter bushcraft B sheath (comes w/ the Northstar). I believe the blade length is close, but the guard may be too large on the Koster knife.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They're scandi ground at 12.5 degrees per side and the sheaths are $35. Don't know if he has anymore left but people are still signing up from the look of it.

Thanks for the help, Shotgun!

Jason - there is definitely room on the sign-up list....I haven't updated it in awhile...but I cut nearly a hundred "extra"...

I only offer the bushcraft knife in a scandi grind (zero edge, perfectly flat grind).

Kydex is the same price as the leather and is custom-fit to the individual knife. You might be able to get it into another sheath, but it won't fit as nice as this one. ;)

Thanks!

Wow guys,

Thanks for all the help, got all the answers in just a few hours, awesome! I think I'll be jumping on board, but I need to finish up a deal on an Aurora first.;)

If I got in now, how far down the road might I expect the finished product?

Thanks again,
Jason

The scandi is a great grind and terrific for bushcraft use. I'm looking forward to getting my first Koster Bushcraft too :) I went with CPM 154, orange G-10 with black liners, & stainless bolts. It'll be my "Nastiest Weather Bushcraft" for the Pac NW, Alaska, and on the water ! It'll be great to see pics of what other guys here ordered too. Regards, - - -

I won a 01 Green Canvas Bushcraft in a raffle held by an awesome Aussie joint.

it is fast becoming my favorite knife.

Here is a couple of quick questions.

1. I put the tiniest bevel on mine, do you think it will affect the cutting ability? I used mustard and vinegar to put a nice patina on it, and didn't want to scratch it up by sharpening a zero edge on it. I can always redo the zero if you think it will make much difference, but at the moment just on a 600 diamond I can skim paper really nicely.

2. What size firesteel will fit in the JRE sheath? I want to buy a blank as they are cheap and fit a handle myself.

Thanks

1 - whatever works for you is what's best.

That said, traditionally the bevel is left flat with no microbevel. But like I said, if it works for you - then do it !

2 - I use the "Light My Fire" Army model firesteel. It is 3/8" diameter.
