In this months Tactical Knives magazine there is a full page photo of Roger C. Linger's bushcraft knife.I havn't called for a price yet.Anyone have a quesstimate? THANX

YOu think they're that much? Roger is a member of Bladeforums (rlinger) and his website (don't know if he's actively maintaining it) is http://riflestocks.tripod.com. His knives look good to me, and that bushcraft model in TK was great with a nice review. Making a Scandi ground knife is a lot harder than it seems. You'd think it was easier than a normal flat grind, and maybe it is once you get the hang of it, but the time I tried it I quickly abandoned the project for a flat grind!

For an affordable bushcraft knife you can't beat Allan Blade. I ordered one at the beginning of summer and I'm still waiting, so we'll see. Roger's knife looks great and he's probably one of the only, if not the only, person doing it in S30V if you like that steel. Get one! :D

Chiro75, I don't know what Roger's Buchcraft sells for.He doesn't list prices on his website.I've had my fair share of knives but I'm not as well versed in knifecraft as you guys.S30V is a good thing? THANX

You'll get lots of different opinions on S30V. I personally don't have the experience with it from a maker's view or a user's. I only have had very small knives made from this steel and they were great. I also have zip for bushcraft experience! Britsh Blades is a great place to learn about bushcraft issues in general. I think Knife #19 on Roger's site is a pic of a Bushcraft with a stag handle. Looks awesome! The reviews of his knife are great across the board, so it sounds like he is doing the right thing with this steel. It's all in the heat treat. I think Roger used to do HT for other makers for a while, although I may be confusing him with someone else. He may send these out for HT, but I think he does it himself.

C75, I've never had a knife speak to me like Rogers Bushcraft does.Did you hear something.....thats not the sound of the price going up is it? Just having some fun Rodger :) Had lots of knives a custom, hatchets, folders, fixed blades.Even a swiss army dagger...I mean Champion everything knife.just a little LEO tweaking :) If his Bushcraft knife is around 2 bills that sounds good.I have a friend who I've been tramping around the outdoors for about 30 years and I want to get him a Bushcraft as a thank you for all the good times.I'm trying to pick up on on Bladesmithing info so I will be informed for my purchase.

Only problem I have run into with Allan Blade is a lack of response. I e-mailed him about his knives about 3 weeks ago and still no response.

Allan was busy before this, so I'm sure when the TK article hit the stands he probably had a meltdown. That's what he gets for having such low prices! :D I was somewhat "responsible" for helping Allan develop a name for himself on Bladeforums a LONG time ago, through an old review of his awesome little knife, the Chipmunk. He's had some business problems here since then, which if you do a search you can read all about. Most of his business seems to be coming from British Blades these days, and his reputation is impeccable there, with lots of happy customers, so I assume he has things back on track. Like I said, I ordered (not paid for) mine in the beginning of summer-ish and the wait was "2 months" but it's probably been 3-4 months. I'm in no hurry to get my knife and since I haven't paid for it yet there is no risk for me in the deal. He could be on vacation or something. He usually returns my emails within a week or so.

Roger's Knives a great and Roger is great to work with I have two of his Bushcraft blades, Two of his WSK's and a 6" camp/survival knife.
