The concept of taking a fixed blade, and marketing it as "bushcraft" is a modern one. It was only recently that marketing departments tapped into the idea that they could sell people a separate "special" knife just for when they went outside for some outdoor recreation. Brilliant, actually.
"Take that old knife and call it 'bushcraft." We wont be able to make 'em fast enough!"
