Over the weekend Brad(another member here) and my self decided to take a few of our bushcraft style knives and play around with them. We wanted to see how each knife kinda stood up to one another, and maybe help us choose which knife to grab on our next camping trip without having to carry multiples (not that there's anything wrong with that)!!
We took the following knives - (not in order as of picture)
- Mike Mossington Custom, Modern Bushcrafter
- Mike Mossington woodlore style knife
- Helle Temagami
- Blind Horse PLSK2
- Fallkniven F1
- Mora clipper
- karesuando moose special
We tried the following with each knife - Feather sticks, batoning (small pieces of wood, but just to get an idea), sparks off a fire steel, a slicing test to see how each knife would cut and the ergonomics of each knife. We based this off a rating of 1-5 in each category. Each test was done by both of use to get better and a less basis results

Fire Steel and Ergo's
Forgot to take pictures of the fire making, we just started having to much fun I suppose. And we didnt bother taking a picture of each knife in our hands for ergonomics. But we still based on a 1-5 for making sparks to get a fire going within 10 strikes to light a piece of birch bark then to light our feather sticks.
- Mike Mossington Custom, Modern Bushcrafter -1 strike
- Mike Mossington woodlore style knife -4 stikes
- Helle Temagami -10 stikes and no fire was made
- Blind Horse PLSK2 -4 stirkes
- Fallkniven F1 -2 strikes
- Mora clipper -5 strikes
- karesuando moose special -6 strikes
Based on a total of 25 the following knives scored as followed as we found each of them to preform with each test
1- Mike Mossington Custom, Modern Bushcrafter -21 points
2- Fallniven F1 - 19 Points
3- Mike Mossington woodlore style knife -17 points
4- Blind Horse PLSK2 -16points
5- Helle Temagami -16points (would have placed higher, but cast's very little to no sparks off a fire steel)
6- TIE - karesuando moose special and Mora Clipper -14.5 points
All in all we hope you enjoyed are messing around with our bushcraft knives. Results were based of out finding and would probably be different for any one of you.
