How about a Koster Bushcraft knife? He's having a sale right now in the custom knifes for sale section.

Bark river always makes good knives. Or a Rat knife. Awesome, I saw you on the Scrapyard forums... If you can get an SS4 that would be a great bush knife. And Remember the warranty so abuse it up, oh and its Infi :D

Here's an ENZO kit knife, O-1 steel and curly birch scales. $78 at Ben's Backwoods.... then add several hours of work....

I haven't had the honor of trying this one out cutting, fuzzing, etc. It's a gift for someone. I'll have to add another plug for Bark River knives, specifically the Bravo-1, Northstar, or Canadian Camp.

dont be shy about that enzo knife guys. it is reall good. sure you may have to put in some time to make it perfect but that all leads tot eh greater accomplshment adn feelin of the knife.

Hey StretchNM,

was just checking out Ben's Backwoods from you're post. Just saw this knife there:

Would this be comparable to a Mora knife in quality? It's definitely comparable in price...

Is anyone familiar with that brand?

Thanks!

I have several Moras but only one Marttini - a filet blade. I'd say the Moras and Marttini's are probably comparable relative to price. That means that. in my opinion, a $21 Mora is probably about the same quality as a $21 Marttini, and a $12 Marttini is probably about the same as a $12 Mora.

The ENZO is another story. Very high quality bead-blasted O-1 steel blade and a nicely done Scandi grind. I'd think if Mora or Marttini made a $80 knife, it'd probably be of about the same quality as the Enzo. This is speculation based on some experience, of course.

What is working for me?
Fallkniven F1 (perfect size)
Fallkniven H1 (new favourite)
Fallkniven S1 (just a bit too long)
Fallkniven WM1 (good neck knife)
Sissipuukko M07 (shorter than the M95)*
Hultafors GK (beefed up Mora clone)*
Mora 2000 (ugly sheath)*
Fallkniven U2 (small folder)
Fallkniven PXL (big folder)
LM Fuse
LM PST
Any SAK
* = don't work well with firesteels unless you "sharpen" the knife back.

or about any knife I get my hands on, except the murder death kill crap called gerber LMF II. Unless they remodel the part that locks the knife in the sheath (the big black flap thing) I will not touch it. It needs so much force to get it out that it is dangerous to yourself and others. If they made a bushcraft model of the LMF II (loose the serrations, make it protruding tang, loose the big butt end and remodel the huge sheath) I might reconsider.
