I tried a new life hack with this knife and cut a can of food and started a fire in it without any problems

I think it's that he stabbed the can and made it into a hobo stove. Handy in case you don't have a stove but do have a big bowl to put on top of it.

Hobo! That's a word you don't hears these days. Maybe homeless travelers has taken its place.

We used to make C-ration stoves the same way. Cut off the top of the can, cut holes around the sides for draft. We had a bunch of USAF Security Police for "Guerrillas" in 1980 or 81 in Germany. My weapons Sergeant showed them how to make that stove and the SP's all said 'WOW!". They had no experience in the field, but turned out to be good bunch, anxious to learn. John

I've been in similar circumstances after natural disasters before. Cans of food were find-able as well as containers to cook in, even if it was the can itself, but no stoves readily available
