Bushcraft Utility Knife??

I actually kinda like it.....appears to be a good general purpose knife

I think the lack of chatter is because it came out along with the Woodsman. You guys know about the delays in that release all too well, and that causes some of the excitement to fade. The other factor is that, while this is a great knife, the Woodsman really ended up being the headliner of that particular release.

On the OKC website the HRC for this knife is listed as 53-55. Is this correct? And if so why such a low HRC? Just curious?

Bushcrafters like to do things like chopping, batoning, and prying. Dan Maragni researched it and found that we could dial the hardness back without harming the strength of the blade, while making it tougher. Don't forget that hardness can translate to brittleness. These need to have some play to make sure it's even tougher to chip or break. Dan would point out that he can make the hardest knife he can, but he'd rather make the best knife he can.
