I'm just finishing up this bushcraft knife for a show this weekend in San Francisco. I've never worked with pine cone handles (actually this is a spruce cone). I know this isn't a new thing but it is for me and I'm looking forward to seeing what people think first hand. To get more light out of the scales I put reflective foil between them and the black spacer. The steel is 52100 and I've work out a clay heat treatment to get a nice looking hamon. The sheath is 8/9 black leather pouch with swinger carry and integral fire striker rod.:o

Very nice looking knife, the reflective foil sure makes red spruce cone handles light up.

Hello and thanks. When the scale sat on the black spacer the handle looked dark but the reflective foil really lit it up. Kelley
