Bushcrafter Sr - Thoughts?

The title basically says it all. I'm looking for a new Fiddleback but I don't have a specific model need. This is a want more than a need. Admittedly I haven't really looked at the Bushcrafter Sr much :o but it's slowly seducing me. Thoughts and pics?

I'm a fan. Everything good about the BC but, imho, better balance. The extra inches really count and it is a strikingly non-aggressive profile for a large blade.

Blade length is a bit better for batoning wood considering the drop at the point. Finer detail work may be a bit impaired but not by much. I haven't had the opportunity to really put them through the paces but if I had to give one up right now, I'd release the BC and keep the BC Sr. Primarily due to the A2 steel, and blade thickness. 3/16" on the BC and 5/32" on the BC Sr.

The Bushcrafter Sr seems like a refined Kephart design...and that has to be a good thing. So maybe you do need one. Heck, I guess I need one...

I'ma fan (obviously). If you just have one field knife, I thing the BC Sr. is a pretty solid option. My preferred config in that role would be TT 5/32. You give up a little on either end - super fine detail work its a little too big, and for breaking stuff down its not as good as the Camp, but its a great middle of the road. The other Fiddleback forge 5" knives (the Duke, Woodsman, and Leuku) have longer grips that extend through a palm (my size) and reduces hot spots for me. The BC Sr. solves this issue with the rounded butt like the rest of the HB/BC/Arete family. It makes a nice compact and very usable knife for a 5" blade.

As requested, here's some pics Two of my favorites:

That about sums it up...

This one is 3/16" and it does the small work well enough but I would like to try one in 5/32".
