Bushcrafting with the RC-4

If you guys want to see some REAL RC-4 action, go see Bearthedogs post. Very well done.

Awesome work! I'm impressed.

BTW, Bear, we're working on a deal to take a film crew and their participants to the jungle. Nothing is final yet but I may need some help if this goes through since Mike is going to have to stay Stateside on this one. In fact, it may be around Blade Show time so Mike would do the Blade show and I would be in the jungle. Again, nothing has been worked out yet except pricing. We're working on scheduling now. The crew is 11 film guys and half a dozen participants for their TV show. These things are a real bastard to work due to the overwhelming number of folks in a remote area. We will probably fly them into Bagazan on an air force Twin Otter to save all the river time. You up for it if this deal goes through?

Jeff

Jeff, I'll answer for Bear:

YES!! he would LOVE to go.

(the only condition is that he says he has to have Brett along...;))

I got an RC-4 too, can I go? ;)

I have 4 weeks of vacation left and you may need an "amature" as well...

Sounds cool. Can't wait to hear more details on the trip and see it. Keep us up to date.

Nice photos bear

Bear - great pix/techniques on that link! Can't wait to see the footage once you guys return! ;)

When you do these film production things one of the rules is you can't film the participants or film crew. We've been involved with several of these things for MTV Road Rules, Discovery and Travel Channel and if it wasn't for the money I wouldn't fool with them. Not sure if this one will be a go or not. Still trying to work out details on the deal with the production team.

Bear and the jungle get along real well. In fact, of all the folks we've hauled down there, he's a natural in that environment so if we get this deal with the film crew he'll be a huge help.

Not exactly a hardcore test, but my RC-4 made short work of an 18lb ham my family cooked today for Easter dinner.

Shows possibility as a camp knife for sure! :D

Tone,
What does the other side of the blade look like? Are the serrations more flat on the other side?
