I'm still relatively new to Fiddleback knives. Got my first in the middle of November 14' and then 7 days later my 2nd. It started fast and that little collection has kept growing fast. Too fast really! It's really a hard fight to find a blade on Friday that you DON'T fall in love with. That's pretty crazy. Think about it. Such a wide selection of patterns and an almost infinite variety of scales. Yet something is right up your alley every darn Friday. I've gone through the last years pictures and didn't see a weeks offerings where that wasn't the case. That says something about what Andy and Company are grinding out of the shop. Incredible.

Anyways, back to the subject of the post. I was able to shark a nifty Nessmuk w/ Black Ash burl over black w/ white pinstripes, SFT Tang, convex on 1/8” spalted 01 steel. Super excited as that should be here tomorrow. What's kinda crazy is I found a Bushfinger w/Black ash burl and black liners over orange, SFT, 1/8" , 01 at Bladeco shortly thereafter. Not even a full 2 days later. Thank you Cdmayhem for posting that FYI! It's cut from darn near the same cloth as the Nessie you say? I say. Needless to say, I bought it, and it arrived this afternoon. (Super quick order fulfillment and great packaging from BladeCo. Couldn't be happier with them.)

I
have not
been able
to put it down. The handle ergos are sublime. It melts away in hand. This is a blade that begs to be taken out and used. I remember the words of more than a few of you when I asked "What do I get next?". Bushfinger was one of the most recommended in the thread. I get it now.

Now onto the scales. Joe Duder posted a pic of a truly awesome Esquire yesterday. The scales appeared lit from within by the sun. Incredible knife. This Bushfinger's scales are darn near their equal in beauty. I put a coat of mineral oil on and wow. I can't wait to get some pics in the sun asap. Black and orange liners were a perfect choice for this knife. In the meantime i'll post a shot under indoor lighting and reserve a spot or 2 for the nice pics.

My current collection sits at BAB Bushfinger, Eucalyptus Burl Kephart, Green herringbone Hiking Buddy, Black & Burgundy burlap Runt, 12" Machete and a BAB Nessmuk on the way. I have a feeling a Camp Knife, Camp Nessie, Hunter & Bushcrafter are all in my future. Hopefully not so quickly as the 1st 5 Fiddleback's haha.

Although I suppose that will always depend upon what Andy and crew have on tap for the next Friday...

Thanks to all the cool folks in this forum for making it such a pleasant place to hang out,

Anthony

Anthony, that's a beautiful blade and a great addition to your collection. It's awesome when a knife feels like that in hand. Non-knife people would think you're crazy, but we get it. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it's almost magical. Congrats!

Great looking knife. Great write up as well. That Fiddleback venom is pretty strong. Once it's in your blood, you can't get it out. Congrats.

Man, that BAB over black with orange looks fantastic. Congrats man!

Thanks Brian. That pic really doesn't even do it justice. Mostly because the flash blew it out. I'll get good ones tomorrow. Hopefully with the Nessmuk and new Jou' Fou pants as well. Thx for the forum tip too. I will do that.

It's pretty awesome when you meld with a blade like that. Just don't do something stupid and sell it to one of these hooligans if things get tight. Send me a PM instead. 😄

Eh, I have been hanging out in this forum for several years now, and seen the knives in person at Blade several times and at the shop a few. I'm used to the fact that no pics do them justice, but I have seen the BAB over black with orange freshly oiled in person, I know how beautiful it is :)

Added some photos here and on Instagram. Sad that the sun from yesterday didn't carry over to today.

Wow .. that's a good looking bunch right there.

Great set of knives, the Bushfinger is stunning. I love the orange pinstripes and wish there were more of them.

Welcome to the fun!

You a have acquired a very nice group there Anthony. I prefer synthetics for myself, but I still appreciate seeing the nice burls like your three. Congratulations on putting together a beautiful collection.

Thanks guys. I feel pretty lucky that I was able to put this little collection together in such a short time frame. They will all be getting plenty of use asap.

If I'd seen more in the Herringbone burlap I would've jumped on them. I would be all over a Camp Knife in it with black bolsters and blue, green or white liners. I really do love that stuff but the burls just catch my eye like no other.

Nice! Those are all great. But I really love that Nessmuk!

It's up there with the Bushfinger. Super nice feel in hand. Those 2 will be the first I reach for when I go camping next.
