Had some time today for me so I headed downstairs to my makeshift shop and bent some leather. My Bushfinger needed some new pants as the last pair I made turned out too big. This is what I came up with this time. A simple foldover with no lining. It's my first attempt at a double handstitch. A quick dip in the wax pool and it's ready to go. Hope y'all like it, I'm kinda proud of this one.

Damn Craig, that looks awesome! Is that a tapered tang or full tang? I was just talking to Andy about getting a tapered tang one in the future.

Thanks Brian, It's a full tang from a couple of weeks back. The tapers are really sweet and balanced. For me though I really like the feel of the full tang in my hand.

That's cool, whenever I finally get mine you ca just make mine a little tighter :D

You got it! Anytime.

Dude, your sheath for the HUnter is the perfect sheath for a hunting knife. I love the way it rides and it has Great retention for all the times I'm ducking and crawling around in briers and brambles. Awesome sheath man! I really like how you did your Bushfinger sheath too.

Thanks Brian, your opinion means a lot to me. So glad to hear the Hunter is still up to par. I tried a lined sheath for this one but it just didn't sit right with it. I've been wanting to try out a double stitch and I think it really worked out well. It's really the same design as the Hunter only scaled down a bit as the profiles are quite similar. I was going to add some tooling but my wife saw it and advised me against it. Like always she was right ;) I wish I could make these for a living but doing them by hand is a lot of work and time. This one took me about 6-7 hours. The lined ones have to set overnight. A sewing machine would help but way out of reach for me right now. So for now it's all about the fun and satisfaction. :D

Really pretty work Craig. Nice job. You should bring sheaths to work. Sit and sew on the slow days. LOL.

Well done Craig! Looking at that double line of hand stitching made my fingers begin to ache. I hand stitched for years until the amount of work made a machine a necessity. It also really increased the work I'm able to do. My machine is the Tippmann Boss which is powered by muscle, but so much faster. Maybe a tip to help you with hand work, try a pair of golf gloves. They're tight, but soft, and protect your fingers from the thread when pulling. You don't need the high dollar ones, but it's tough finding for the right hand. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Rick! I really appreciate the tip as well. My fingers do get a little torn up now and then. Gets me thinkin, I got an old pair of batting gloves that would probably work, now I just gotta find them.
