Bushing Pivot and Washers question

I understand that CRK has to "fit" the washers to a Sebenza 21 due to the bushing pivot. I've also heard that the washers can wear down to a point where there is side to side blade play. I don't understand why, can someone please explain?

I searched, and couldn't find an answer. Thanks in advance :o

In fitting the washers at CRK they strop them to thin them out, or strop the bushing and test fit untill the action is right.

Over time the washers wear down till there is a tiny bit of play introduced. This is because the washers are wearing but the bushing is not. If it's really small play and the knife is dry as in no lube left just the film created by the lube can remove the blade play.

If not it needs to go back in and get tuned by CRK.

If you need more info let me know.
