Bushman: Handle Ergonomics and Strength

So, I've been looking for a longer (>5) fixed blade. I will use it outdoors mainly. The thing I'm most looking for is assurance: I don't want to worry it'll break. I was looking at expensive knives with an unconditional guarentee that gave some peace of mind, but I had a realization; am I really ever going to break a Bushman, let alone 5 to equal the price of one of the knives I was considering? Probably not.

So my worry is mostly in the handle. I'm wary of the hollow handle's strength, but mainly its ergonomics. With long usage (whittling, batoning, chopping, etc.) does the handle stay comfortable? Has anyone done some simple mods to the handle?

Also, I wouldn't mind thoughts on the knife in general.

Thanks for any info and help.

I've done a paracord wrap that gives it more grip, and it has certainly held up over time
