Dan-

Ever since I sent you the money to get on the BushMaster list I was curious about the edge treatment it's going to have. Are you planning on grinding it with a convex bevel, convex micro-bevel or V-grind?

I found out that my lovely wife is getting me a Delta SA180 1x42 grinder for giftmas :D and after some practice I'll be following your tutorial on sharpening a convex-micro bevel on most of my knives. Should this work well for a 3V BushMaster? I'd bet it will since you have the same grinder in your shop.

Also, I don't see my name on the BushMaster list just yet. Has it been updated? Thanks!

PB, if memory serves me correctly it will be a Flat Grind, which you are probably referrng to as a V Grind.

Hope this helps, and should I be wrong I am sure you will hear about it. :D

My guess is that with the price designed to remain, basically, as low as possible it will be a 'V' grind edge. Convexing would take much more time on the grinder and therefore push up the price.

All edges that leave my shop are "partially convex"...that is the nature of power-stropping.

The BushMasters will be full-flat grind with a micro-bevel that will start out flat, but be "convexed" slightly with power-stropping.

Meaning: if you use a SharpMaker/Lansky/EdgePro/etc....you will have to set the angle yourself the first time you resharpen it. If you use the mousepad method, you won't have to worry about setting an angle.

Reason for this is simple and practical. I can grind a microbevel and powerstrop it in about 1/10th the time it would take me to grind/sharpen it on a stone by hand...or by specificying a specific angle.

Thanks for the clarification. It was just what I was hoping you'd say. It'll make it easy to sharpen up on my new sander.

Oops! Some drool just leaked out. Sorry. I can not wait for this knife.
