The Bushmasters arrived and all I can say is WOW! I really like the overall design. The blade shape and geometry were perfect and shaving sharp. The handles are big, but fit my hand well. The back of the handle allowed for a firm grip while chopping and I made quick work of some small trees in the yard. The forward lanyard hole was useful for keeping the knife in hand while using the chopping grip. I liked the balance and contours of the ironwood handled knife (the Micarta handled knife was slightly contoured with less palm swell) but will probably order one in Micarta full tang fully contoured to keep the cost down. Dan, do you intend to drill the tang to lighten it? The thumb grooves on the spine did not seem to be in the right place for me but worked well with a firesteel. The sheaths were very nice and the thicker one housing the ironwood knife was my favorite. Both knives excelled at kitchen work and helped me prepare some NC pulled pork barbeque. Overall, I found the bigger size bushcrafter with a 5 inch blade very well designed and able to do larger chores not intended for smaller knives. I would not hesitate using either of the Bushmaster knives for survival. Dan, thanks for the opportunity to review this excellent knife. Please put me on the pre-order list!!
