I know, I know...I should be past this by now. Yet I still get surprised by what you can do with a Busse knife, and it's so NOT a big deal.
This weekend started when I went over to a friend's house to help with a hot tub installation. We had these thick pieces of PVC to cut and glue together. The saw we used left some pretty rough edges on the PVC, which had to be trimmed before we could glue everything together. My BA-E handled it no problem, to my buddy's amazement.
Used my Steelheart to trim our cedar trees on Saturday, and cut down and cut up a couple of smaller hardwoods. Piece of cake.
However, the real test was today when I started to check into a water leakage problem around a window in our entryway. I started with my Bagder to pry off the siding, and then used it to start digging into some of the wood around the window. I dug through the entire header around the window, including digging out the nails, etc. Essentially, I used the BA-E to dig the entire window frame out of the house, with absolutely no damage to the knife whatsoever.
Came in tonight, washed the knives off, ran them over my Spydie sharpener a couple of strokes (didn't really need it, but I am obsessive that way), and coated 'em w/ CLP. They look identical to the way they did before the weekend. Both still shave as well as my razor. Unbefreakinglievable!!!!
My Busse's are fast becoming my primary implements of destruction.
