Hello all...
I should be getting a Natural Outlaw in a few weeks ( thanks to Ranger )...tell me guys...what sort of abuse have you put your user Busse's through ?

Kinda curious to hear the reply, as I'm planning to put the NO through some hard times when I get it.

BTW, if you could post a pic of your Busse in action, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Radomvis.

Ohh...and how the heck to you pronounce Busse ?, is it Booze, Boosy , Bazee ?

Hey SpearHead

I'm the same fella that you had the conversation with about Randall Vs. Busse, I respect your point of view...this can be proven with the purchase of the NO.

That link is good, but like Busse knives...it ain't enough. Any one else have anything to add ?

SpearHead...how the heck did you manage to drop a Busse out of a chopper...in the military I presume ?

Radomvis

By The Way...if I have a standard NO, can I send it to the shop for some modifications. I'd like a satin finish, with linen micarta, and maybe get rid of the pommel and make it flat as on the BA, but still have a lanyard hole.

Don't forget kitchen remodeling, re-roofing the house, and digging out a stump from the front yard.

Nothing I'd call abuse, just tough love. :)

i used one to open a beer once, then i found out it was a twist top... had to send the knife back for refinishing.

i figured that beer cost me 65 bucks, next time i'll open a 12 pack and dollar cost average...:)

Yes, I recognized your handle. Let us know how you like your NO when it arrives.

As to the helicopter issue... Yes, I was was in the Army. I was in a helicopter over the Tanana Flats, north of the Alaska Range, on a search and rescue mission. I'd been up a long time and was starting to lose my edge. I had the knife out to cut some cord while adjusting a tie down on my gear, the bird pitched real hard to one side, and the blade came out of my hand and followed a really pretty arc straight out the door and into the muskeg (swamp) below. It wasn't one of my finer moments, and it took a lot of work to recover my knife. My only saving grace was that I had presence of mind to check my grid coordinates so I had a start point for the SH search the following day...

hi, busse sounds like buss e, like a school buss but with a e, or it would rhyme with hussy or muffy, but with a b, now boozy does come in to play but we don't call each other names with the booze. we just take and post pics of forumites puking. there is a direct corilation between the knives and the boozy, i just haven't figured it out yet. BUT i'm sure there will be someone who can especciallly since its saturday night. :barf: :footinmou

Thanks Skunk...when I make the call to the shop, I'll finally know how to pronounce Jerry's name correctly.

SpearHead.
That must've been lot's of fun looking for that blade.
Any of your comrades in arms carry other Busse's ?

Holy Crap

Thanks for sharing...you know..I was looking for a good chopper/machete... a 9.5" blade Busse might just be it. Not anytime soon to be on my purchase order, but gonna keep it on the list. The NO is gonna be my primary blade for a long time to come.

Radomvis,

Nope. I never ran into another Busse while in the Army. Busse was still fairly young at that point and high speed tactical blades weren't nearly as in vogue as they are now. Most guys I knew thought I was nuts for spending as much as I did on my SH and using it as a field knife. And by today's standards it was a steal;)

As to whether or not there will be a NO-esque blade in the new line-up... I can't say for sure but I'd guess there will be. It is a pretty popular blade size.

You gotta love a knife that you can chop down a dead tree with, rinse in warm soapy water, and it looks brand new again. And still shaves. And that's considered Busse-ness as usual :D
I am still in utter amazement of the Battle Mistress.

Thanks fellas for all your replies...keep 'em coming makes for a good read and gives me an idea of what I should/will put my NO through when I get it.

Lock it in a safe ????? you know, I'm not even a Busse owner yet, and I can tell that won't happen. Busse's don't seem to be safe queens, leave that to Randalls.

I think Busse's would feel betrayed if you left 'em alone...they need excercise...so instead of locking them in the safe, try and stab or pry open it.

Have I gone too far ?
