Looking for a fixed blade EDC. I keep going through the AD and the game warden. Do they both carry well horizontally on the belt? Which blade do you like better?

Trying to compliment a sebbie for EDC.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you mean by "compliment". Guessing probably 'alternate'.

The BAD would be the most similar to a Large Sebenza. Most of the other AD permutations are much stouter.

The .14 GW's are stouter than the BAD's, and more blunt in profile, so less delicate, but not as good for piercing and slicing.

You may want to get both, and just live with them for a while in order to form opinions. You may want to consider modding on them (taking a little belly out of the GW, grinding down the but of the xAD, etc.). You'll also probably want to play around with different carry systems, as this is a major issue relative to the Sebenza... probably the main potential disadvantage of the fixed blade.

Lately, I've been carrying a .14 GW in a leather pouch sheath, with an IWB clip. Most of the time this rides in the strong-side tool pocket of carpenter's pants. I also have Kydex for all my small fixed blades, including the BAD's and GW's. Still lean more toward the Sebenza for the office/meeting type of environment.

It's just a very personal set of choices. There is no one perfect solution, and your opinion will probably drift some with time.

The Active Duty is an awesome EDC blade! It carries well in a SOB rig and is very comfortable. You can't even tell it's there.

Naturally, the Game Warden EDCs even better in an SOB rig...I actually find myself carrying it more now;)

I carry a skeleton warden, I couldn't imagine a better EDC. PERIOD...:D

Hey Dan, I've got an Active Duty that Tom K. reground and wrapped in some kydex. You are more than welcome to check it out sometime!

Dave

I'm not a big fan of deep bellied knives (I've got enough belly already) so my preference goes toward the Active Duty series over the Game Warden. Better yet, the Meaner Street is a great blade design for me.
