The AK sword gets alot of love on the Busse forum. What do you guys think of this blade? I was thinking of getting one??

If I could afford one, that would probably be the one Busse I would own... in spite of the "tactical" aesthetic.

Got one coming. This will be the second Busse Sowrd I've owned... From the last one I can tell you that they are wicked... I mean I wouldn't go getting into a sword fight with one... the don't have any kind of appreciable guard. But who get's into sword fights anymore. For a real life, long blade... it's hard to beat an AK. It can be your axe, machete, katana all rolled into one.

Yeah I don't think anyone has to worry about a duel until we run out of bullets. And even then, if you're even remotely familiar with a sword you'll kill the other guy because probably 90% of the people in this world have no idea of what to do with a sword. Let alone be experienced enough to actually fight with one. LOL. But I sure do love those 80's ninja movies. When I was a kid they had me glued to the TV.

Interestingly enough, in George Silver's Paradoxes of Defence he puts forth that arms masters wanting to teach in another country should first fight a master from that country, then fight an unskilled man, then fight a man of moderate skill who's drunk. The thing being that you can't always expect a man with a blade to do something that makes sense. An unskilled person can be just as deadly as a master thanks to not knowing what to do to preserve his own safety. Sure, he'll probably die in the process but what good does that do you if he kills you too? Gotta' be careful. ;)

Skill in a sword fight isn't absolute either. You only have to be better or luckier than your opponent for half a second. Or vice versa.

Higher stakes than I want to roll the dice on.

I got one as well thanks for the advice guys! I will post pics and I will try to stay out of any sword fights. I also ordered a rainwalker sheath for it with a shoulder rig! Should be a nice set up!!!

You'll love it. Not the most traditional sword in the world... but they handle quite well and are pretty much indestructable.

Have you handled the Ruck Kensei? I was wondering how they handle.

Nah, never had the pleasure. I'm sure they're lightening fast though given the shorter blades. Probably more of a slasher than cleaver. I wanted the AK becuase it's got enough blade to do some serious cleaving.

I had both the AK and the Ruck. You can't go wrong.

I've used mine for yard cleanup and clearing underbrush and small trees on my lot at the lake. It might not be the most efficient tree chopper I have but it sure is fun to wail away at a 4" tree and watch the chunks fly!! It ain't no 'wall hanger', might as well use and enjoy it.

Ok guys, thought I would share some pictures! This is a sweet sword,,,,,I know I said I wouldn't spend a grand on a wall hanging but I am not sure what I need to chop with this bad boy...Maybe after the newness wears off. Any ways here a couple of quick pic I snapped before the sun went down..
