Well, I finally got it, the 1911 that's been calling my name for soooo long...

Kimber Custom II, straight fixed sights (night sights would have been nice but the wait was roughly 6 months).

So, what to do next? I'm thinking that Busse 1911 grips may be called for, but I'm not sure

Maybe we can get a lot of 1911 pics up here with Busse grips to see which ones look the best. :D

Oh, what do you think about that little pocket knife at the bottom? I got bored last Saturday night and had some 100 grit sandpaper lying around so I decided to sand down the scales. Hard to believe that knife used to be tanker grey and those scales had grooves.

Looks pretty clean under that Tanker Grey finish.
Nice job. Like the handles.

The scales look awesome, make sure you wear a mask/respirator sanding that stuff...

Mask? What is maaascc?

I've never wore one when messing with micarta (probably should), but I thought it was a must when you're messing with G-10.

So, nobody has any 1911s with Busse grips?

You know they made those grips to be put on and used, not just in a drawer collecting dust. :D

Terry, I like your grips, they are plain and simple but they look nice:thumbup:

u812, what color combo is that? Grey and blue?

I don't know what grips to look for, I like the "black out" effect going on, does/did Busse make an all black linen or canvas micarta 1911 grips?

The guy I got them from said they were OD-black.
I like Snake skin best myself. The new tequila G10 would look great in the 1911 grips.
