Busse and ESEE?

Got my first Busse this week. I also got my first ESEE. While they are very different, there is a lot to like about both.

I'm curious how many of you HOGs are also way into ESEE. I'll bet more than a few.

BTW, the first Busse was a SAR4 LE. It was bigger and beefier than I expected. I love it (though I can now understand why some people are asking for "anorexic" versions of some of the smaller knives). The handle fit my huge paws flawlessly.

I can't wait until the end of the week when my second, third and fourth Busses arrive (my intent was only to buy one, but you already know how that goes). Unless something magical appears on the Company Store, I'm going to take a break from knife buying for a while.

Go over to the ESEE forum right now and you'll probably find a thread, even on the first page, about how many ESEE guys like Busse, lol. They are definitely my two favorite fixed blade manufacturers. Both make superb knives and are great companies run by great people.

It's not a coincidence either that they're probably the two most popular forums on this site...the cool people seem to end up in the same place. ;):D

Silly though it may be, I'm totally bummed the ESEEs no longer have the skull logo (at least on the knives I was most interested in). I realize this isn't the case with everyone.

im not sure which ESEE's you are referring to but the 5 and junglas both have the skull.

They do, but I went with a 3 and a 4. I did buy a flint (with the skull) to satisfy the craving. I was going to get a 5 or a 6 -- but I decided to wander over here before I did. That turned out to be an expensive decision.

As of December (fingers crossed), I will be the the proud new owner of
two new H.E.S.T/F FOLDERs.... :D

I haven't owned an ESEE/Rat for some time now,but they are awesome
blades... I would buy some more if I could only stop purchasing SRKW & Busse long enough..lol

Sure wish Busse would come out with a folder!

I think I need a RatTrap as well.... but, they are hard to come buy...for
me anyways....

Other than busse and bussekin, ESSE knives are the only fixed blades I own (and one fehrman).

I think nearly every one on this forum would agree that busse and esee are the best non custom fixed blade makers on the planet.

I own scrapyard and esee knives and neither of them have let me down.

Not to mention both esee and busse/bussekin have the UNBEATABLE LIFETIME WARRANTY.

I have been looking at that folder for sure!!!

I wish they would release a version without the blade notch on the top and bottom. I know they serve some function (wire breaker etc), but I don't need them, especially the hook type notch in the blade edge.

I like ESEE, but Busse has already filled that niche for me.

I have a bunch of Rat Cutlery knives, bought mine before they changed to ESEE. I'm thinking about getting a couple of the clip point models though. I love the looks of those.

But I own 10 times more Busses than ESEE's.

I own and collect a lot of knives.

I use my ESEE, BUSSE/KIN, and BRKT by far the most.

Why you might ask?

Simple. Kick ass warranties.

I have a couple RAT's that came before :D great knives. I carry the Izula all the time.

I love ESEE knives, i have the Izula and RC 3.

I'm looking forward to the HEST folder and the Izula folder.

I've got a couple of each.

I want more.

Lots more

:)
