I've had the black crinkle coats from busse and kins and in my experience they're pretty durable. Now My question is does tanker grey, muddy brown and desert sage have the same durability? I've read that some coatings does not have that much "crinkle" that it wears easily.

In my experience, the black coating chips off easier than the others. I have no experience with muddy but I have used tanker grey, arctic white, sage, and zombie green. All have stayed on the steel better than black.

My first, a CGFBM had black coating that was chipping off in many places before I stripped it. In my experience with newer Busse's and kin (NMFSH, B11, 1111, 1311, Mudd Mutt, KDSH) in black, green, tan and muddy brown the coating just wears off without any chipping.

I've had the best luck with sage. Even after using a stripper and having the "crinkle" part come off the blade was still sage colored.

I have stripped black, tan and green ones. Green ones was toughest, then came tan and black as lest durable.
