Howdy all,

As promised to several of the good folks on the forum, here are some photos of the Busse ASH-1 LE "Leathdex" sheath I just completed. The Leathdex (leather/Kydex) sheath is basically a formed leather sheath covered with Kydex and covered again with leather. They are now offered on my website but be prepared for "sticker shock"! This is my first posting of any of my work here on the forum so I hope it's in the right place. Many thanks to Longbeachguy for selling the knife to me so I could make this. It's a little different...

Richard

Richard it looks fantastic but I think you should post it on the Busse forum also

Looks great, man. I might hafta get into one or two of those...if I can bear to send my knives in. Don't know, man...

Very attractive! Does your design allow the shealth to be opened sideway?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

Paua - This sheath has had the edges glued but it does have a drain hole at the tip. I have considered not glueing them so that the sheath could be opened up for cleaning if desired and will probably give that a try on the next one.

Looks very nice but I have never had a sheath like that one.

Could you show how it is worn. Does it ride horizontal in the middle of your back etc?

thanks

Jerry - Thanks. Coming from "the man himself" that really meant a lot to me. I'm glad I finally found your great high quality knives that make me proud to build my sheaths for! There will be many other Busse knives that I will be making sheaths for in the future!

Knife Hunter - Yep, you've got it. Horizontal carry behind the back. Here is a link if you want to see it carried that way:

BTW - If anyone would like information about the sheath they can just click on my website link in my post and find it easily on my website!

I only carry fixed blades most of the time and there is two ways I carry them sash stlyle with a stud or horizontal like Richards sheath. I hate having a sheath slap around on my side and drawing attention to it. This style only has one draw back and that is sitting in a car. With his quick on off straps that eliminates this problem. Great sheath buddy let me know when you get an HR and I am in for one.
