Hi, I have read about how great the B11 is as a chopper. I have never seen mention of how the kill devil is iin comparison to the "choppers". I have both the B11 and the Kill Devil in unused shape and was wondering which would you use?

I would use both but if I had to pick it would be the B11, unless you actually have uses for the KD spike.

I would take the B11.

I want to get a Rattle Hawk, not for outright usefulness, but general badness!

the Kill Devil should be the better chopper but the B11 will be more of a all around tool. The 1311 is king though.

its hard to beat the B11
I mean its easy to beat on :)
the basic 10 le came along - nimble, shiny and nice but no thanks
then the 1311, also nice but better than the B11 nope nimo

the combination of the weight the balance the feel and the handle do it for me

my plans are to beat the snot out of the coating then one day have it stripped and buffed to a nice shine
take a few pics
then beat the ish out of it again ;)

10+ inches of infi is much easier to consistently put on target while chopping than 3 inches of SR101, and safer as well.
From my experience using both, the KD is only a better chopper if you never ever miss... and being human, one inevitably does once in a while. ;)
B11 with Rattlehawk for perspective.

A couple of user KDSH's.

I was thinking about the same thing. I will use the knife and then have it stripped and polished. I personally prefer the satin finish anyway. ;)

Neither! MOAD FTW!

This! The MOAD is amazing!

But to answer your question...

I love my Basic 11 and I have a Kill Devil in the mail. If I had to choose between the two, I'd keep the Basic 11 since it was been my go-to big blade for a while (until I got my MOADs.) I feel much more comfortable with a big blade than I do with a hawk.
