Well, I just got mine today, and I must say it was quite the surprise.

I have a Busse Basic #5, and I had thought the Badger Attack E was basically the same knife, except with Micarta slabs. Wrong!

The BA-E is a massive knife indeed. You really have to actually lay hands on one of these to appreciate the overall quality and toughness. Honestly, If I had actually handled one before I bought this one, I might have changed my mind.

Being that I'm only 5'5", this knife might be a bit more than I can comfortably carry, concealed or otherwise. The sheath that comes stock with the knife is no help either, because it's a bit large overall. Also, I think I would like quite silly pulling this thing out anywhere except maybe in the jungle or some such.

I don't know what you might use a knife this massive for, but cutting twine or opening mail ain't it.....

Overall, I'm very very happy with it, and I think everyone should own at least one. If you have been thinking you need a nuclear tough knife that can withstand any abuse, comes with a super lifetime warranty, and is relatively inexpensive, the BA-E is well worth a look.

Anyone else have an opinion on these?

I am 6ft 2in tall and have no trouble carrying either my Badger Attack or my Badger Attack E. I use a kydex sheath carried either SOB or IWB. The kydex makes a great improvement in carrying these knives. I recently got a kydex sheath for my Busse Basic 5 from Eric at OnSceneTactical, and I HIGHLY recomend it! :D

Yes, I'm going to have to get one of the OST sheaths and try carrying the BA-E, especially after hearing such great praise from everyone.

Hey Guys..

Thanks much..:)
Appreciate it..

The BA-E isn't really all that big of a knife, it's just massive for it's size if that makes any sense what so ever...
If you've held one,, you know what I mean...

As a camp knife, it doesn't get much better for a rough and tumble beat the crap out of it and know it's gonna work the next time,,kinda knife..

On scout weekends my EDC is the Natural Outlaw...

We were all standing around and someone says "Anyone Got a knife?" By the time everyone was done unsnaping their's mine was out and almost in the guys hand....

I love it when people ask that question.. LOL

When you want the job done the BA-E and the NO-E will pretty much do whatever you want it to..A smart investment in a camp or whatever type of knife..

ttyle

Eric...

I've got the Natural Outlaw (and Basic 5). Very solid choices, IMO. I'd like the Badger, but can't see buying one since I've already got the NO (besides, I like being able to choke up on it, anyway).
Got sheaths from Eric for both of them, and my advise is-get you some!
Takes a great knife, and turns it into the "total package":)

btw, Mike, I've got a MFS-TS on the way-broke down and bought one after reading your and others' comments on it.
I'm sorry, but I think it's best that you get put on my ignore list before you cost me any more money:p

Kidding,
Owen

Here is a funny thing. After owning the BA-E for a few days now, it does not seem that big after all. It's growning on me, slowly but surely. I still have not tried carrying it, because of the factory sheath, but now I think I can manage it and not look overly silly using it.

OwnenM,

Oh yes, that MFS is a great knife, eh? :) I usually end up carrying the MFS in my front pocket. Because of the slim profile, it's very comfortable. I wear the Basic #5 at work on the belt, and the MFS in jeans around about...
Your really going to like the MFS. It's tough as nails, and is very easy to carry.

But hey, speaking of more money, the NO is starting to look really good, now that I'm used to the BA-E.
I still can't imagine what kind of tasks I would actually need the BA-E for, but I'm sure I'll find something.

Just today, I hacked through 3 2X4's, cut a coffee can in half, cut through quite a bit of cardboard, and a bit of fiberglass pipe insulation. I managed to dull the Basic #5 a bit, but a few quick strop strokes on the Sharpmaker fine white rod and then a few strokes on the leather strop, and it's back to hair popping sharp again.

Lordy but I do love the Busse's :)
