Busse Bali

....the air being pushed by the INFI blade upon opening would knock anyone in the vicinity down.

Blade Addict,
That is an interesting thread. Thanks for posting the link, I would have missed it otherwise

:D:D

A balisong has the strongest lock up of any non-fixed blade. Add to that the one hand opening. If you think about it a Balisong is the perfect folder.

pins wear out pretty quickly with flipping, and would probably end up costing busse a large amount of time and money replacing them...

Actually, pins don't wear out quickly as long as you have a quality bali. Benchmade makes a great bali and Spyderco actually just jumped into the game recently...

Oh, and no problem Eric.....by the way, you have a cool name. It's always better with a c rather than a k.....

We have not done much in the bali field other than a couple of customs I made back in the '80's. I really like the genre and am guilty of being a "bali flipper". I just wish I had the necessary dexterity to be more proficient at it.

Jerry

Wow, I never knew that you ever made any. I'm not sure if many people over at the bali forum know that either. Do you happen to have any pictures of one of them?

And that's cool you flip balis Jerry. There's a great site at www.balisongxtreme.com with step by step instructions, then little videos showing the full move.

Also, if anyone is interested in seeing any of us flipping our balis we have a Bali Video Archive at http://balisong.theasylum.org/

It is by our user names. I recommend checking out my HALO video and ANY video by Icon Of Sin. He's very talented...

those video's are definitely amazing, and the balisongxtreme site will teach you a LOT of basics. what little i know of techniques is from that site

:footinmou sorry bout that... i dont know anything about bali's, and very little about folders:( just tryin to think of something that might go wrong with it, and seeing as it is more or less constantly in hard openening and closing use, that would seem to be a likely place of damage.

i still like my brothers idea for a folder... wich im not allowed to speak of... because its to good and he doesnt want me saying it in public  :D ... really though... their the strongest lock up designs ive seen so far...

Pins can last pretty long as long as you take care of the bali. I've used a Benchmade 42 for the last 4 years for heavy flipping (a couple of hours, everyday, dropped it a lot too), and it still flips like new. So, I don't think pins are major concerns.

I really really want a (or more...)Busse bali. Since Jerry is also a flipper, why not make a bali line ? The market will respond well (referrence : Spyderco and its Spyderfly, Benchmade and its bali line).

So, please make it ? ---> an honest plea from an INFI believer

:)
