Busse Basic 7 vs. Fallkniven A1

Still having trouble with this one. It's a moot point anyway as the Basiic 7 is no longer available unless you get one in the private sale area and it will not be cheap and it will not last long. Busse knives get snatched up very quick in the sale forum. If you are not there within a few hours it will most likely be sold.

Have you thought of the
SwampRat Camp tramp?
CS Recon Scout?

I will say this, I like my A-1 and I would not sell it. But the Basics are only a very slight step down from the regular INFI and much more collectable. I think it comes down to preference.

Cliff tested both and here is his tests:

I've owned both, still own one. In the real world, for slicing and cutting purposes, I think you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference.

Since I don't have both anymore I can't compare the exact length and forward balance insofar as "chopping" is concerned. They'll both get the job done with a baton, however.

I've owned both, and used them enough to say I would prefer the Basic 7 over the A-1 for most chores. Both are good knives though. I would give the nod to the Busse simply because it felt better in my hand. I did not like the assymetrical grind on the Busse compared to the A-1's full convex edge, however. I sold all my Basics to buy full INFI Busses, and now use a Steelheart E ZT as my main camp knife. Once you get into this knife buying/collecting game, there's always another knife to buy in the endless pursuit of perfection.
