Why has there been so little written on the Busse Basic 8 CG in the forums. Looking for a good review/evaluation of the Basic 8 CG. Thanks

I feel ya man, went looking for that info myself a few months ago, couldn't find squat outside of the Basic 8 LE thread and fs threads. Still wanted one, so I went looking for a CG and ended up scoring an LE for a greight price! :D

In the woods I sometimes carry mine as a small chopper/camp knife that's still light enough for belt carry (I'm not into ultralight stuff, lol). At home I mostly use it as a splitting/batoning tool for firewood prep. With the thick stock and forward weight from the res-c construction and narrow tang, it has a nice amount of chopping power for it's size.

Lack of numbers I'd suspect. There were a LOT more LE's produced I think, so you're going to hear more about them. Aside from the coating, any reviews for the LE will likely echo any reviews for the CG version. They are both grEIGHT models!!!

Thanks guys. Does anyone own both the Basic 8 and a Basic 9 and provide any opinion on preference between the two? Thanks

The B9 is very similar to a B10 in size/length weight and has an asymmetric edge.
The B8 is shorter, lighter and has an edge that is symmetric and a little more belly.
They are both great blades.

Sure seems like there are not many B8 CG out there. I have one on the way and was wondering if anyone who has one also has a Sykco 911 to compare? Blade steel difference aside, can anyone provide some insight on how they stack up for camping use (chopping, batoning, general camping task use)? Thoughts? Thanks
