At what temprature does the basic handle start melting at? Above 150°c?

I dunno the answer, but remembered that Cliff Stamp once soaked one in gas and lit it on fire. Claimed it just burned off the gas and warmed up the handle. Came through more or less unscathed afaik.

I know if it gets left on top of the wood stove it will mold a slight flat spot in res-c.

Lighter flame is 1,975c.

I'm just doing my research for custom coatings i am considering.

Thank you for your awnsers so far. I will most likely remove the handle but its good to have all the info.

We always coat with the handles off. Although I must admit I do not know what 150 degrees would do. May have to throw a handle in the oven to find out.

Garth, send me some ResC pellets and I'll play with it in the lab to determine the softening point. Or, just send me the Technical Data sheet from your supplier (Resirene?)
