When a particular Busse is a "combat grade" version, how is it different from a "standard" version?

Thanks in advance...

Michael

The standard is the combat grade.

Originally black finish, expanded to include the green, tan, and some other colours.

Slabs are micarta, normally black or tan canvas.

Finishes like a camo, satin, or double-cut (bead blasted) incur a premium to be added to the base cost.

Slab changes (tiger, snakeskin, G10, etc.) also have add on costs.

Hope this helps.

there's usually a combat grade version and a limited edition. the limited editions normally have a satin finish and larger (magnum) tigerhide patterned micarta handles.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but nowadays, you can also get what I assume is still "combat grade" with a double cut (bead blasted) finish. You pay extra for the upgrade, however.

In addition to the combat grade and limited editions, we're also starting to see "competition grade" Busses, which are uncoated with a rougher (less-polished) finish than satin or double cut.

There is often a difference in the thickness between the combat grade versions and the limited edition versions.
