Though, if you want it for actually skewering hogs, you might want a stout cross-piece below the head to keep the hog at bay.

Well, actually, the best solution right now is the Gladius!!!!!!!!

take the handle scales off, slap that sucker on a long stout Pole, and you are killing elephants.
