The BATAC has held my attention since the first time I laid eyes on it, but always had trouble getting one. Well, the fine folks at Busse set me up in the Cabo Wabo Ganza with this beautiful blue & black G10 on satin specimen. A knife this fine deserves a truly special sheath.

A while back I had a Rowe sheath come through my shop, and it really turned my head. It was some of the finest leather work I had come across. However, without the right knife for it I passed it on to another Hog who is hopefully getting some enjoyment out of it.

Even though I run a sheath shop, as soon as I got the BATAC in hand, I knew this knife demanded leather from a master. I got in contact with Rowe Leather out of Hope, Arkansas. If I'm right, this is a third generation leather shop. I dealt with Eric, the youngest, who did an exceptional job at figuring out what we needed for this knife. Customer service was top notch all the way! Eric set me up with a High Ride sheath, with full exotic inlay. I requested that he make the sheath in a way that it would have smooth leather on the inside to baby the satin. I didn't like the idea of a strap, so we opted to put a magnet in the sheath to make it absolutely secure. He matched the Bruiser G10 with a blue stingray pelt. There is a small up charge for the stingray "diamond" but well worth it in my book. I think I was quoted 2-6 weeks production time, and had it back within two weeks.

It is absolutely perfect! The fit and finish are remarkable! Not only did the Busse crew make a gorgeous knife, the Rowe family dressed it in some fine leather work. Hats off to both!

I recently had Eric make a BATAC sheath and he used someone else's knife that had just been sent in he said. Bet it was yours. And he's gonna make me a black leather/blue ray inlay paddle for my bruiser TG from the latest Ganzaa. Quite coincidental. So thanks for the pics!
