What am i missing here

These two swords are roughly the same length in both blade and Tsuka, but the Busse blade just looks WAY too long, while the O-Katana looks like it is supposed to be that long

This one looks right

The blade here just looks strangely long

If those are the same length, probably the Busse blade is thinner (blade width, not thickness), which makes it look more slender and long. I really hate the looks of those Busse swords, honestly. I can't imagine the balance is effective, the coating will induce drag and inhibit cutting ability, and the geometry just looks wrong for a katana. I could be wrong, having never handled one, but I can't imagine myself ever buying one of those.

I have a Rucki, and i'll tell ya, that thing is FAST in the hand. The balance is truly perfect (almost exactly 1" above the scales) and the blade profile looks very slashy. I think with a zero convex edge, it would be very nasty.

I will have an AK47 soon, and i'll let ya know how that one is.

The O-Katana length blade just looks VERY off to me. Those who have handled them say they feel very well balanced, but i can't imagine how

I wonder if they are really sword folk who say it is well balanced. Most people don't realize how light and well balanced real swords should be, and I have a hard time convincing myself those scales will tip the balance near enough to the handle.

The Busses look more like a Jin Tachi.
My Hartsfield kat was too heavy for my liking. My Nease Lykat was just right. I'll have a chisel kat from William come Spring.
