busse bwm vs junglas vs becker bk-9

Horndog did a comparison of the Junglas and BWM some time back and felt the Junglas was the better chopper between the 2.

Junglas is at 20 degrees on each side of the bevel for a combined edge angle of 40 degrees.

but if the bwm was re-grinded then it probably would have been more of a test but out the box esee beats all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This might be a good read for you.

Keep in mind the BWM is a good bit smaller than the NMFBM I would put it on par with the Junglas as they are about the same size but I do think INFI would give it a slight edge not nearly as much as a NMFBM.

Yeah.

Junglas is a tank... costs a fraction of the Busse. Bk9 is a bit smaller but good for the price.

Thanks Justin. To strip the blade down any paint stripper will do the job. After you strip off the paint there will be a greenish coating on the blade, just lightly sand it with sandpaper. As for the scales.... wooooo weeeee....

That took me a good combined total of 5 hours of standing there with a dremel. If you decide to try doing the scales, the best advice I can give you is to be extremely patient. You have to stop every 3-5 seconds and let the scales cool down otherwise you'll have burn marks. You also can't press down hard otherwise it'll generate too much heat. Just start from the middle and work your way out with the pattern. It's just triangles meshed together for the scalloped pattern. After you're done grinding, go over it with sandpaper to round the edges. I used RIT dye (dark brown I think).

Good luck!

The Junglas and the BWM will be very similar in chopping ability but INFI in my opinion is a much better steel all around. It all matters if you want the best knife possible or the best value. The Junglas has a awesome sheath system. The BK-9 is good too but I don't think it can hang with the Junglas or BWM. BWM's are going for around 400 bucks and 65 for a sheath. The junglas is about 160 so the question is are you willing to pay about 300 extra bucks for INFI vs 1095.
