... to stop chopping through wood!



Here in Louisville we've had a spate of pretty nasty storms recently, rain mostly until the unreal 6"+ of snow today. Last month we had 10" of rain when the standard for February is 2-3". With all that, there's been a ton of downed trees and resultant firewood to be carted away... and I've been getting as much as I could for my backyard firepit.
Pictured above is a 5-6" diameter piece of wood that I wanted to section up to burn. I have no clue what type it is, I just grabbed my Combat Basic 7 from my gear and started batoning it on through.
Of course, like an idiot, I wasn't paying attention and wound up going through a knot. With the overall thickness of the wood, I didn't have much blade tip to hammer on either, but the CB7 powered on through anyhow. You can see how it split the wood right down the center of the knot.
