I picked up my first Busse some time in the early 2000's. Not really sure of the year. It was an early Mean Street. I than picked up a SHSHII which I loved. I had that knife for years but than sold it for some reason. I owned many Busse over the years but was not really a collector. I am guessing about 5 years ago I started looking for another SHSHII and that is when I started collecting older Busse production knives.

I don't have that many but add to the collection when I can afford to.

I apologize for the crappy pictures..lol

You have a great collection. I have an unused original run HHFSH looks like you don't have. Also a killer bee and original BATAC, cs gladius, tglb

Unfortunately those older models have been totally devalued by the newer models with better infi and highly improved heat treat. I will gladly take some of that scrap infi off anyone's hands for a generous $4.99 per pound, yeah Im paying triple what a scrapyard would but hey, if we hogs cant help each other out of a tough spot, what the hell is the point? I'll even split the shipping, yeah I am crazy but what the heck, I love helping people.

Blueoak,

You have some very nice knives!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The 2-bolt Badger is about as rare as hens' teeth!

My first Busse was a Basic 9 in late 2001, followed by a Satin Jack CG with a 1/4" thick blade in early 2002, and many others later on; I still have the B9 & SJ. My biggest regret is not buying a SHBM when they were $297 new from Busse (same for a SHSHII new for $267). The early ones are still my favorites, including the MS, SHSHII, SHBM and the Basic 3, 5, 7, & 9. Thank you for sharing!

Very nice old school collection!!

Much envy from Texas! :D

Wow !! Just jaw dropping wow !!!

Great collection :-) thank you for sharing the pics :-)

Holy Bacon! Great segment on a study of the classics! It's really great to see these beauties come out into the light of day!

I have a question - All these early blades I've noticed that black finish is different than all the more modern coatings- what was it? Almost has that flat satin kind of look to it-

Somewhere around 2001 Busse went from a black smooth coat to a black "crinkle" finish. For example, there were two versions of the Basic 3, 5, 7 & 9 – the earlier ones have the smooth finish and the later ones have the crinkle finish. Earlier Mean Streets have the smooth finish and crinkle finish on the later ones; I think this is also true for the other models available at that time.
