My CG SJ has the Busse Combat logo on the blade...the SH-E I got in the mail today does not have the logo.

Do only certain Busse's have the logo? Or, is it random which knives have a logo...or, is my SH an exception?

some are marked and some are not. the unmarked ones are called sterile. some are unmarked for reasons of security when used in covert work. some of mine are and some are not. currently they are not being marked because jerry poured a cbl in the damned laser engraver and POOF! it was toast. i personally like the logo and if i ever go covert and leave my busse laying around they will just blame it on that busse guy. :)

Thank you, I.S. for clearing that up.

I agree...the logo is very classy and I would REALLY like to have one on my Steel Heart!

All of the ones I have are sterile, and I'm glad. I prefer them that way. (Of course, I'd be happy either way.) I'm not so fond of logos plastered all over my gear, making me feel like a walking billboard. Also, maybe they'll seem like uninteresting, no-name gear to ignorant potential thieves.

While I think the Busse logo is cool looking, I think that sterile is classy in its own way... elegantly understated. The style and quality of the knives speaks for itself, unique and immediately recognizable to knife-knuts. No need to do anything else to advertise or draw attention.

Evolute,
You do indeed of have a way of putting my thoughts into words. I agree completely with you. :D:D

I see Uncle beat me to it though ;)

I have both sterile and marked. Although I like both, I
prefer the logo on the more collectable knives like
variants.

Elegant, unique, understated...all of that is fine and I would agree. However, I still REALLY like the logo...especially the way the gold looks on the black coating. :) (Ok, so I'm into glitz & glitter & flash.)

some drive ford's and some drive chevy's. aahhh.. what a wonderful country we live in!! :)

Good Evening Everyone-

How exactly is the logo put on the blade? Isn't it done by laser-etching?

AFAIK, wouldn't that result in a silver-colored image on a crinkle-finished knife or silver-on-silver if it's done on a Double Cut (matte) blade?

I would assume this would be one of the last manufacturing steps before the knife is boxed for delivery?

Hmmm, now y'all gots the wheels spinnin' in my brain thinking about what I should do for my Pepper Shaker that's scheduled to be built in the future! :D

Regards,

~ Blue Jays ~

I have both, but it don't matter to me. Either way you
know it is a Busse!!;) :D

Oh, and I drive a Dodge!!:p

Right on Blue Jays!
It is actualy very detailed if you look at it closely. You can actually see the tubes (no, not the band:rolleyes:.) and a handle pattern on the SH!

Will Jerry and the boys (and girls) at the shop put a logo on an already owned Busse? I like the logo and might like to get a logo or two put on a couple of the Busse's that won't see the field.

I'm curious,
Ed
