I am wondering if I am missing out on something here? These three companies are linked/owned by the same people which is fine. However, The Busse site has only one knife available for sale, Swamprat none, and Scrapyard one.
Is there a reason for this, or am I missing out on some links somewhere?

Reasons? Due to their ever increasing popularity the wait times would be Randall-esque if it was not for the new production protocol. I very much prefer the new system.

Sweet, I really like the AK Models.....Thought I was missing something..

what's the new protocol? you mean how they offer their blades from the company sites in batches? i mean i dunno, i don't know what the "old" protocol was.

From what I've been told, back in the stone-age, Busse had a stable of knives you could order. I don't recall if any were in stock at any given time, but there were multiple blades available at once.

Now, it's one blade for each company, so-to-speak. Because Busse is making the FBM, BUT making all sorts of Ganza blades that come up for sale, military and other contract overruns, Game Wardens of every color of the rainbow, and probably some AK's here and there.

Swamprat is down to one-at-a-time for now. Scrapper MAY have multiples, depending on what runs out when.

You have now exhausted my knowledge of this topic.

Well, you're right about back in the "stone age" I remembered calling to get a catalog about 12 years ago. They sent out a little brochure with about eight knives in it. I orderer a SHBM and it took nine months to get it. Back then it was pay before you play though.;)

At least as far as Swamp Rat is concerned, earlier this year they had a listing of "all" their main lineup blades available to be ordered: Camp Tramp, Ratweiler, Howling Rat, Rat Trap, and Bandicoot. Yet, supply was limited to whatever they were running. For example, if you ordered a Camp Tramp, and they didn't have any in stock, you could end up waiting months (we're talking +6 months, etc) until they started up production of the next batch of Tramps.

With one blade available for order at a time, for an extended period of time, at least minimizes a lot of that sort of waiting. Throw in a few Extravaganzas and the secondary market, and one can quickly get a huge collection of non-"in-production" blades.

When Busse had a complete line of knives available to order, the wait times were increasing to many months. Same with Swamp Rat. The new system keeps wait times down, and knives available.

Back when INFI was new, I ordered a Battle Mistress, Steel Heart II, and Badger Attack, all at the same time. I think there were a couple other models available at the time that I didn't order. Only took a year or two before I got them.
