Does Busse Custom Shop take orders for older knives or swords they have made? Are you able to have them make the knives or swords a little different, like a longer blade length or a smaller handle?
 
I guess you can try to place an order but they are pretty busy. They may take the order but may not get around to it, or it can take a long time. It varies. You really are better off trying to find one for sale from someone, try posting something in the "Want to buy section"

Way to discourage the new guy... Maybe the better advice would be to call the Shop and ask to speak to Garth for more... accurate information on a special request /special modification.

Yes, special orders can take time, but perhaps what he's looking for can be done quickly...certain older models won't be available, but only the Shop knows what blanks they have in stock. Since Brandon369 did not specifically mention which model(s) he's interested in having modded, it's worth the phone call to check. The worst he'll hear is "no". :)

That was not a knock at anyone in general especially the Busse Custom Shop. Yes I guess you can call and check. I was not trying to discourage him. When he said "like a longer blade length or a smaller handle" I took that as a custom job which may take longer. Please call and see if they can do something for you. I meant nothing by my statement to discourage you.
 
Well what I was looking for was like a AK47 with a longer blade and a Gladius with a longer blade with a shorter handle. I was also wanting two nuclear ice picks. I have emailed Garth a few days ago, but I guess it must take him awhile to email back, being so busy as I'm sure he is. But when I did called up there they just gave me
his email address, so I guess I can't talk to him on the phone.
 
Without hijacking the thread too much, if I order a blade from Busse, can I at the same time ask the custom shop to properly convex it for me when it's ready? Do they do that sort of work?

Ummm, now I hate to sound discouraging, but that is a tall order. :o:D I would say that on the Gladius, they wouldn't accept any special order at least until after it's been offered and all orders filled... Busse used to take special orders like that but they charge by the inch, and it's pricey. Best thing to do is give Garth a few more days and then maybe shoot him another email. As for a longer AK... I won't even attempt to try answering that one. That's not to say that Busse hasn't done a longer sword...But I only know of one. :)
BTW, have you seen a Gladius in person??? It's pretty long (for a short sword)! :D

Again, however... Only the Shop can give the accurate answer on this. :)

You might want to order a Combat Grade Chuckette', I'm pretty sure they sill have 70 or 80 blanks cut out for it in the back room.
It has a 19 1/2" blade then just have them cut the 11" handle down.
I heard they might be available in the next Ganza if there is enough demand.

Man, I wish!!! :D I'd go for one in a heartbeat! :thumbup:
 
Yep. You could be waiting YEARS for them. Simpler mods can be done in very short order.

It helps to find out Garth's drink-of-choice and send a case over. Grease the wheels, so to speak. LOL
