I found a pair of busse dog tags on ebay today, and noticed something that maybe someone with more info could clarify. The edge on the dogtag is rolled down away from the readable side of the tag, but on the dog tag i have it's rolled up. Now the tags on ebay are generic tags that say busse combat, and mine is one that says steel heart, then busse combat below it. I know the one i got is an original, and i know they were made both ways, with knife name, and busse combat only. Anyone shed some light on this if it makes any diffrence at all? Not knife related, but busse dog tag trivia is always fun. :D

The Dogtags currently on Ebay look to be one of three types of in-accurate
Copies of a factory Busse Dogtag.

It is not uncommon for these to come up.

Jerry some times contacts the sellers to limit sale.

I used to post Busse Dogtag pictures on this site for a day at a time before taking down the pic's to limit more accurate reproductions.

If you're wondering if they are good or not, look who's bidding on them:eek:

They are printed on the wrong side, the hole is on the wrong end of the printing, and the spacing is wrong, I have bought a few good fakes.

These are not even good fakes, These are the most common of the bad ones.

The reason I do not leave pictures of the real ones up for people to see it is that it leads to people making the effort to make better fakes.

I went through this maybe four or five years ago,,,some of the fakes got pretty good.

There are more fakes out in the world than real ones, once there was even someone selling fakes right here on the forums if I remember right.

But Jerry put a stop to it, got to love all the interest though, imitation being a sincere form of flattery.

Then again maybe I am wrong,,,,maybe they are real, and the ones I have from long ago are not!! hhhmmmm?
