I have two Active Dutys I'm waiting on(2 weeks my ass! :D )and I'm wondering how many of you carry your AD as your EDC?

If not an AD.. maybe a MS, PR, or an AS around the neck? Also, what rig do your smaller EDC Busses ride in?

*note: pics are welcomed!

I got my AD in the first batch sent out and have carried it every day since. David Brown made a sheath for me and it's great. It's just big enough to cover the blade. I took off the tek-lock and I just slide it into my front pocket. It's small enough that I don't even notice it. It is truly the perfect EDC, and I don't think that I'll ever carry a folder again. Why would I? After you succesfully carry a fixed blade for an EDC, a folder seems kind of gimmicky.

I love my Active Duty. It's now super sharp. Very bullet-proof. It's on my hip as often as I can wear it. Very super yum! I bought my AS used and is at the shop getting a factory edge, so I haven't really been able to play with it much. I don't know if I'll use it neck-knife style though. I'd like to put a clip on it so it can ride high in the small of my back. We'll see.

Cheers,
BJB :D

I don't have an AD yet. It's on the list but seems to keep getting bumped:grumpy: In anycase, I really like the GM as an EDC. It is a very versitile knife that serves a wide variety of functions. You don't hear a lot about it here on the forums but I'm convinced that the GM may be the best "small" knife Jerry has built.

If Dwayne ever gets off of his Irish ass to get my new AD "Advanced Sheathing System" (ASS) to me, I might! But until then....:grumpy:

;) :D

Wore the AD for a couple weeks after getting it, but could never bring myself to use it. It arrived screaming sharp from the shop and is a very handy size. It would be a great candidate in my mind for the "little" in a big/little two knife piggy-back sheath combo. The AD leather pouch sheath rode comfortably enough on my belt around the house and in/out of vehicles. So now the sheath has a few dings on it from being worn about, but the blade is still pristine & retired to being a safe queen. Which is a shame, because it's a Busse and made to be used hard. :( Hope you've got the heart to properly beat your ADs when they arrive. ;)

My "all the time" Busse (and INFI challenge coin) is the Assault Shaker which consistently surprises me with its cutting ability for being such a fat little wedge of a blade.

Generally, a folder or two and maybe a multi-tool are my EDCs, but when circumstances legitimize and my mode of dress allows, I'll carry the PD.

I've been carrying the PD just behind my right hip in a homemade concealex IWB sheath. I never leave the apartment without it. I also like to carry my AS in a horizontal belt sheath (with a G clip so I can wear it without a belt).

Sine I've acquired my Busses my BM 941 and Emerson SOCFK have sat on the shelf. I love carrying the fixed blades.

Yea yea, just keep poking, ;) your gonna force me to use that "new stamp" I had made just for you...:p ... ever seen the north end of a south bound coatimundi?? Its not pretty!!!! Seriously though, its nearing completion, pics later in the week!!!!!!:D
PS: I like the name of the system! Making one for my 'coot when I get the time... (yea, time, RIGHT!!)

The Mean Street is the best for me! But they are hard to find!! Otherwise if I was to get a new one it would be a bad apple...

I have to agree with Les the GM might well be the best small Busse I've ever handled. However, it isn't my EDC that goes to my AS. Whenever I'm awake I've got my AS on :D:D

I love the AS, PD but I carry my AD every day as well, it' just perfect, though I'm thinking of having a variant with a one inch longer blade and finger grooves made......ooooohhhhhh!

Cant go wrong with the AD!

I cut the handles off on mine so that they are just long enough to fit my hand, and rounded the butt a little (don't know that you can tell from the scan). Now the knife balances on the front tube, and feels much more "lively".
One of these days, I'm going to try making a kydex sheath for it, so I can carry it more comfortably. Still bigger than I like for EDC, but it makes a great beater, and gets used around the house alot.

Gundy, you mean you haven't gotten your's yet?!? I've had my "BAD ASS" for almost a week now:D

Thanks Dwayne;)

Outside of work I carry either a DW Mean Street or sometimes a Police Recruit.
During the summer (lighter clothing season) I'll keep an Assault Shaker in a pocket or just take the Recruit.

Lately I've been thinking of getting an AD for work to replace an Al Mar that's on the fritz:cool:

Owen,

Cool modifications. Lucky for me I have big mits so the length of the GM handle works out fine. The additional finger grooves are cool though. Also, it's hard to tell for sure from the pic but, did you remove the crinkle coat?

I carry my AD on occasion, but I'd like a different sheath.

Lately I've just been carrying my Buck / Mayo.

Mike
