SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEOS

Well. I just received my BUSSE SAR8 SE in the mail after an arduous 3 weeks muck around with USPS to NZ.

Photos and Video will follow.

What I wanted to say is that this is the very first BUSSE out of the 5 I own that is both Hair Popping sharp, and also has an excellent cutting geometry. This is no fat sow.. its a lean cutter. The profile is better than the SAR4LE which was much heavier on the edge spine.

So.. is this part of a drastic improvement in Busse Edges, or was this one of the lucky grinds that just came out as I'd expect every knife to be received.

Cant wait to do a small video review on it. Its as close to a Grail knife as I can come to so far for this size.

I can't say what it's like overall, but the recent INFI knives I've gotten have been much sharper than those I got six months ago. I finally got around to using my new SJTAC and AD this weekend and both were plenty sharp for all the wood carving duties I was using them for. Two big thumbs up for me on those

Fully convex edges will vary a little IMO...it can depend on the belt tension and/or how near a pully the edge is ground as this alters the belt shape as well...glad to hear yours is a good one and you deserve it to be after that long a wait...

I am betting, that after the rash of threads on it, there will be a bit more consistent edges coming out. The angle of the edge does not matter, thick edges can be sharp too.

The Sar8 se, does it have a full convex grind, with a blended bevel?

The edges have been improving greatly since we started pumping bourbon directly to the sharpening stations . . . . Turns out that "taking the edge off" helps to "put the edge on"!!!!. . . . Who'd a thunk it????

Let's Drink!!!!!

Well Jerry, on this score you got the formula perfectly. There is not one blade I have handled or owned from many high end companies that is "better" on the edge and geometry than this one. It is a perfect blend.

Kyley, at the very end of the video you say you're rambling and in awe. I know the feeling!

nice vidoes! got to love the police in the background! =)
and of course im green with envy!

I don't know if the same folks do the final edges on Scrap Yard knives or not, but my Scrapper 5 LE came with a very good edge on it. My Sarsquatch CE also came quite sharp.

this reminds me of an old joke:

Q. what's the difference between a busse and a sharpened prybar?

A. a sharpened prybar is sharp.

:p :D
