Thursday was opening day of Red Snapper season down here on the Gulf and I went out and caught three nice red snapper and a couple of groupers. So I was wondering if anyone has ever had Busse filet knives custom made. I looked on badmojo, but didn't notice any. Just got through prepping some grouper for the grill with my thin NICK (thanks Skunk) and thought how sweet it would be to have a couple of INFI blades for fish cleaning  . Anyone know about any

Congratulations on the catches. I love red snappers. I do not think Busse Combat has made a filet knife but I may be wrong.

Busse made a couple fillets knives... I saw them for sale about a year ago. May have to get one. Kings are coming in

Do you have a picture? What is the thickness?

That post was from a long time ago. Pics have probably been taken down. I was just pointing out they exist.

Pics don't work for me. Just little red Xs.

Skunk doesn't usually keep pics available for long periods of time. I think he has limited storage space.

Try emailing him, he may still have the originals.

Ah, found them. Thought I saved the pics must have looked right past them earlier.

I would hate to be the fish that gets skinned by that bad ass blade. Thanks for posting those pictures.

I just noticed those filet knives have the famous front talon hole. For how long has this been a trademark of Busse Combat? Do all Jerry's (before he went production) blades have this feature?

The Shark blades and Urgent Furies do not have the talon hole. When did he add his trademark?

You'll need more of an expert on his early work to answer that question. Although I like vintage stuff, it's not my focus. There are several people who really dive deep into early Busse Combat knives and Jerry's stuff before starting the company. Skunk is one of them...

I guess I will just have to wait for him then. How early in Jerry's knife makin career did you start collecting/using?

Thanks guys for the info and pics DN. That's definitly a sweet blade shape for cleaning fish. I love to see a serrated version but just a bit bigger for them big ol blue water fish :)
