Busse finish

I am a newbie to Busse knives. I have had 2, and I let them both go. I am thinking of ordering one custom to suit my needs. So I have one serious question...What is the double cut finish on the blade? It costs an additional $35.00. What makes it special?

DC is a dual-media bead blasted finish. Its smooth, but not shiny like satin.

Double Cut (bead blasted with two media) is absolutely beautiful on safe queens but is more susceptible to rust and really shows use in my experience. Satin or a stripped blade are my preference for a user. I've not purchased any blades the newer battle grade or the older competition finishes. Battle grade would be my choice on a user. Satin or Double Cut on a safe queen. YMMV

I've been using my DC Nuc Heart Variant since 2003 with damn little rust. You have to look for it to see it. Just wipe it off every once in a while and it will be fine.
My SHBM 1/100 with smooth coat shows as much but it's been used since 1998 so it should.
