Cold opener weekend here in MN(walleye,pike,bass,ect)didn't go yesterday. 30F now, snow on ground in spots. Couldn't find a fishing thread or if one exists hasn't been posted in for ages, so here's one for 2016. Not a good catch but first catch of day. BGASH with me. Let's see something better than this one.:D

Nice... I've never heard of a bad day fishing...

Kayak fishing may not be so great in your neck of the woods, but it sure is fine along the Tx coast.

Not easy getting pics of fish though.

Think I'm going to see how well a BWM will fillet soon.:D Need to get some blood on it.Probably not super great, but well enough to get meat ready for fryer.Well see, just for hell of it. Will be picking out bones but don't care. If was trout or something Ash would be fine.

We need Elmax Kin Fillet knives with micarta or resc Jerry!!!:D Please. Guaranteed to be a BIG seller.
 
The city just stocked our local pond with yet more fish, I think its time for me and the daughter to break out the rods and tackle an get some quality time. :D

I have an Elmax Scrap Yard knife that will make a great little fish cleaner, sharp and thin. I just wish I could remember its name. :o
 
This is an awesome idea for a thread; I can't believe it has not (that I can remember) been done before as a dedicated thread! Nice fish/Busses guys.
 
KD real nice kayak setup you got there. Will get one or a canoe as soon as find a deal. Used to have a canoe but had to sell. Some nice lakes to fish on around here that are only canoe/kayak accessible. Penn fan too I see. 👍 Will probably never buy another brand of spinning reels in life besides Penns. Even cheap ones like the Battle have incredible drags. So smooth and solid. Got both Battle and Conflicts in different sizes and COULD NOT be happier with them.


Teyler that's a really nice salmon.👍 Had to be tasty. Never caught one but have ate plenty.

Well caught 4 more Pike and a bass. Crappies ain't biting. Maybe tonight. Gonna try for walleyes Tuesday night if weather is good. To many damn people on Lake Vermillion right now. Gets way to crazy on opener.
 
Last Thursday engaged in some extensive fly rod therapy. 35 to 40 nice Bluegill and Shellcrackers, plus a nice 3 lb + bass. It was one of those rare days when the number 8 popping bug caught larger fish than live bait. My absolute favorite way to fish.

Thanks! Yeah good eating! Had it smoked, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.. yummy!!

Awesome, I haven't used it on fish but I suspect my scrapmax 460 would work pretty handy cleaning fish. A res c/elmax filet knife would be nice!
 
Great thread. Can't wait till after Blade when I can get a chance to get out on the water and do some fishing. You guys got me itching to get out now.
